Homemade chili recipe

My boyfriends loves cooking from scratch which contrasts my desire to always use a recipe. On Sunday, he whipped up this chili dish and I tried my best to watch him cook and create a recipe for others to use. It's a simple recipe in terms of preparation but the combination of ingredients makes for a unique, flavorful dish!

Ingredients

2 pounds of ground beef
1 large white onion, diced
12 oz jar of tomato paste
1 jalapeno pepper
2 red hot peppers
2 anaheim peppers
1/3 cup of Worcestershire sauce
12 oz dark beer
15 oz. jar of red kidney beans
1/2 tbsp. fresh parsley
3 tbsp. chili powder
3 tbsp. cumin
1/2 tbsp. oregano
1 tbsp. paprika
1 tbsp. curry powder
White pepper
Salt
Water

Directions

1. Add the ground beef to a pan over medium heat and cook till slightly brown. Add the Worcestershire sauce to the pan, stir, and cover the beef in the sauce.
2. After dicing the onions, cook in a separate pan till slightly brown.
3. Slice the jalapeno pepper in half, the red hot peppers into quarters, and keep the anaheim peppers whole. Cut off the tops of the peppers and char in separate pan. Remove seeds and dice the peppers after you've cooked them.
4. Turn on a crock pot to high heat and combine the beef, onions, diced peppers, beer, red kidney beans, and water (till desired chili consistency).
5. Add sprigs of fresh parsley to the pot (you can use dried parsley but fresh always tastes better).
6. Add chili powder, cumin, oregano, paprika, curry power to pot. Add white pepper and salt to taste. You can also throw in a few bay leaves if you have them but it's not a necessary ingredient.
7. Let cook for 3-4 hours.
8. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top and serve sourdough bread for dipping. Enjoy!
