DIY coffee mugs

Mugs that I made for my boyfriend for Christmas. One for him
and one for me to keep.
This is a great, personalized gift for pretty much anyone in your life (e.g. parents, significant other, grandparents, etc.). All you need are permanent markers and a blank mug. Draw on the mug and then bake the mug in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes to seal the marker.

I got my mugs at China Fair. Just make sure they are ceramic so that you can ensure that they are oven safe!

Each necklace is $23 and you can request it in any color you'd like by visiting the fushionbeads.com page where I buy my beads.

How to recycle your old candle holders

I love finding new uses for old things and I also was dying to create a makeup brush holder like they have at Sephora. I was able to do both this weekend using a Yankee Candle jar that was completely used up.

In order to get the access wax out, I put the jar in the microwave for 30 seconds. I wanted the wax to be palpable but not liquid. Then, I wedged a spoon in between the wax and the jar to pop it out. I rinsed the jar under hot water to break off the remaining pieces and used a rubbing alcohol swab to clean the entire thing.

I bought the beads from Amazon (order the 16 ounce bag). Then voila! You can decorate your new make-up brush holder with ribbon like I did or go crazy with glitter, gems, or lace.
