Last month, Toni Christina Jenkins, 19, claimed a customer wrote "none" under the tip section of his bill and wrote the n-word for the total.
She posted a picture of the bill on Facebook, saying “This is what I got as a tip last night… so happy to live in the proud southern states...God Bless America, land of the free and home of the low class racists of Tennessee.”
The customer, Devin Barnes, has publicly denied using the epithet -- although he admits writing "none" -- and has hired a lawyer, according to the New York Daily News.
The story went viral, prompting support and threats for Jenkins, who was temporarily suspended from her job.
A California man set up a fundraising page for Jenkins that raised more than $10,000.
